RUGIPO Students Disrupt Examination over No School Fees, no Exam Policy
Pandemonium broke out in Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo today as the Students of the institution troop out in mass to protest against the policy of no school fees, no examination by the management of the institution.
The angry students who were sent out from their various halls for non payment of school fees went berserk leading to rampage and destruction of properties worth millions of naira,including the invasion of the ICT centre of the institution.
Speaking, the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Owo chapter Mr. Rafiu Ijawoye describe the students action as embarrassing displeasing and unacceptable.
Ijawoye accused the management for not providing enough security it members calling on the state governor Barr. Rotimi Akeredolu to come to their rescue as well they were no longer save.
The ASUP Chairman added that he has directed his members to withdraw academic activities till further notice.
The Students Union Government President of the Institution, Comrade Ayejuyo Temitayo, when contacted was not reachable as his phone line was switched off.
